Ultimate is a team sport played with a flying disc. Two teams of seven take to a rectangular pitch with an end zone at each end, and a point is scored when a player catches the disc in the end zone they are attacking.

Players cannot run while holding the disc. Instead, they pass it to team-mates, and possession passes to the other team if a throw is dropped, intercepted or goes out of bounds. There are no referees at most levels of play: players call their own fouls and settle disagreements between themselves.
